He started off in the entertainment business way back in 1981,when he was the lead guitarist in a heavy rock band called GUILT! at the tender age of just 17.unfortunately the band split a couple of years later just as they were booked in the studio to record their first album,but undeterred Gary and a couple of band-mates went on to form TRICK OR TREAT around 83/84 playing the northern and east midlands club circuit,the band were extremely popular and over the years and a couple of line up changes (and name changes)built up a considerable amount of respect on the club circuit....thats when Gary left the group and went on to join the comedy trio! THREEPENNY BIT!but that was short lived and the comedy duo! NORFOLK AND GOOD! was born,and with Gary's natural wit and the comedy of partner in crime Brian Freddie martin,his career really took off....it was at this time that Gary started his solo career as GARY J DANIELS playing all over the UK,especially holiday camps and all the major east coast resorts,building up a considerable reputation as an all round entertainer....then Gary met fellow entertainer Ian bartley,who many on the Costa Blanca know as TYLER,and the very popular HIGH SPIRITS were born,playing music from queen to elo,and it was at this time that Gary moved on to keyboards,and started recording all the bands backing tracks,and also producing tracks for other artists including some for stars in there eyes acts such as George Michael,and martin fry (abc) then came the move to Spain,and the change back to his childhood nickname of WOODY,were Gary was to hook up with his old band-mate TYLER to form a glam rock tribute,but unfortunately Tyler found that Spain wasn't for him,so Gary took the bull by the horns and created WOODY'S GLAM ROCK SHOW,a one man tribute to the greats of the glam rock era,with Gary producing all the backing tracks at home in his custom built studio...this show was to give Gary his big break in Spain,and when he decided to call it a day and hang up his silver suit,and platform boots,decided he wanted to do something completely different,and so a trip to the barbers to chop those trademark curls (and ponytail) were in order and nearly a year in the studio producing the backing tracks THE BUDDY HOLLY SHOW was born!!! the show has been running for nearly a year now and thrilled audiences all over the Costa Blanca,the show consists of WOODY doing his normal routine for approx 50 mins then a full 1 hour tribute to the great BUDDY HOLLY and then finishing off with pure nostalgia for an hour or so with music humor and plenty of dancing for everyone!
