They are four professional musicians with long experience of many musical styles, and they choose their musical content for the occasion involved.
Instruments played are accordion, mandolin, piano, tin whistle, guitar, bodhran, bass and drums - and they all sing! The ShamRockers believe that creating the right atmosphere is very important. Their repertoire includes songs fromThe Dubliners, The Waterboys, Van Morrison , The Proclaimers, The Pogues etc, and they are always delighted to play requests and accomodate any special requirements. One of the most frequent questions they are asked, is how much Celtic music do they play? The answer is, as much - or as little as required.
Their lead vocalist/guitarist has worked as a professional muscian both in Ireland and in Spain for many years. He has appeared on all the major TV and Radio shows in Ireland and am a published composer and member of the Performing Rights Association. He also plays mandolin.
Kirsty plays piano and accordion and tin whistle and sings. She is classically trained and a qualified music teacher. Bass player Barrie, and drummer Nigel, also have a wealth of experience in many musical styles, and both sing and provide a fantastic rhythm section. Nigel also plays the bodhran which adds that authentic celtic touch!
